The ACLU seeks a Graduate intern in the Technology-Analytics Department of the ACLUs National office in Washington D.C. or New York City. Thisinternship can be remote or hybrid.
Qualifying applicants must currently be matriculated graduate students and must be based in the U.S. for the entire duration of the internship.
The Team:
ACLU Analytics partners with teams across the organization to enable the ACLU to make smart evidence-based decisions and bring quantitative insightsonour issues to the courtroom and the public. Our teams work ranges from social science research for litigation & advocacy to analysis & reporting for fundraising and engagement to building andmaintainingour data infrastructure. We strive to ensure the ACLU leads by example in the ethical use of data and technology. This includesmaintainingour privacy and security standardspushing fortransparent data practices from government and corporate actors and helping to stewardhigh standardsfor algorithmic fairness accountability and transparency.
What Youll Do:
This intern will help the team to create quantitative analyses that will transform the way the nationwide and affiliate organizations achieve their missions. This includes creating analyses and visualizations to support strategic and operational decision making across advocacy legal and electoral programs. The intern will also have opportunities to work with experienced data practitioners and develop skillsin descriptive and statistical analysisvisualizing dataandpresenting findingsacrossACLU priority issueareas.
