The Controller is responsible for ensuring fair and accurateaccounting processes maintaining internal controls and full compliance with manufacturer lenders and regulatory requirements. This role plays a critical leadership function safeguarding dealership assets and overseeing all accounting and financial operations for the dealership.
Brief Overview and Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day administration and accounting processes including but not limited to; accounts payable and receivable inventory controls DOCfinancial taxes and banks accounts payroll benefits management and human resources.
- Manage all computer and technology systems for maximum utilization.
- Work well with all department leaders to assist and support.
- Train coach and mentor the administration team with proper accounting procedures and processes.
- Daily control processes for month-end closing to submit GM financial statement by the 4th working day of the following month.
- Provides sales gross and expense analyses summarizing potential problem areas and opportunities for improved profitability relative to monthly and annual forecasts.
- Daily updates with general manager/dealer on admin financial and operational conditions of the entire dealership.
- A more detailed list will be presented at an interview.
Some Requirements include:
- Must have a positive attitude with the upmost integrity and ethics.
- Previous Dealership Controller experience of 5 years.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Timely management of all accounting processes.
- Experience with General Motors preferred
- DealerTrack experience preferred.
- Excellent MS Office skills and communications with our IT providers
- Positive vendor relationships
- Strong administrative detail and organizational skills.
- Must be willing to collaborate well with managers and owners for continuous ways to improve the overall dealership operations.
