Senior T-SQL Developer (SQL Server Snowflake)

What You Will Own

• Design develop and optimize complex T-SQL stored procedures views and functions
• Refactor legacy SQL code for performance scalability and maintainability
• Perform advanced query tuning using execution plans indexing strategies and statistics analysis
• Architect and maintain ETL/ELT processes (SSIS and cloud-based pipelines)
• Support business-critical reporting and billing systems with high accuracy and performance expectations
• Implement CI/CD practices for database deployments (Azure DevOps/Git)
• Contribute to Snowflake data warehouse design optimization and data modeling
• Troubleshoot production performance issues and resolve root causes
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into scalable data solutions

Required Technical Expertise (Non-Negotiable)

• 5 years of hands-on T-SQL development in production environments
• Advanced knowledge of:

o Query execution plans

o Index design and optimization

o Locking blocking and transaction isolation levels

o TempDB behavior and performance impact

o Set-based logic and performance tuning

• Experience building and maintaining complex stored procedures (1000 lines of logic)
• Strong understanding of relational database design and normalization
• Experience with SSIS or enterprise ETL frameworks
• Experience with Git-based source control and structured SDLC environments
• Proven ability to troubleshoot slow queries in high-volume transactional systems

Preferred

• Hands-on experience with Snowflake (Snowpipe Streams Tasks performance tuning)
• Data warehousing and dimensional modeling experience
• Experience migrating workloads from SQL Server to Snowflake
• Exposure to BI tools (Tableau or Power BI)
• Familiarity with CI/CD automation for database deployments
• Understanding of SOC2 controls and secure data handling practices
• Understand how AI-assisted tools can improve development efficiency
• Use AI responsibly to enhance not replace engineering judgment
• Can evaluate AI-generated SQL for correctness performance and security
• Stay informed on emerging AI capabilities within data engineering ecosystems

Candidates should be able to:

• Explain how they diagnose and resolve a slow-running stored procedure
• Interpret and optimize complex execution plans
• Design an indexing strategy for a high-volume billing table
• Refactor cursor-based logic into set-based operations
• Describe transaction isolation impacts in high-concurrency systems
• Explain trade-offs between SQL Server and Snowflake architectures

Education & Experience

• Two- or four-year degree preferred
• Experience with SSIS complex stored procedures and data imports
• Familiarity with AI-enhanced development workflows and tools
• Proficient in Microsoft SQL Server and relational database technologies

Work Environment

This role operates in a hybrid environment enhanced by AI collaboration platforms. Youll use

tools like Cursor and Copilot to work smarter not harder. This role routinely uses standard office

equipment such as laptop computers and smartphones.
