DescriptionIn accordance with the Vision Purpose and Values and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
Reporting to the Director of Logistics this position is responsible for providing a comprehensive suite of services associated with Printing Services and Electronic Document Management for the Island Health on a regional basis. These regional services will include but not be limited to: Manufacturing/Printing/Duplicating Printed Materiel Contract and Deployment management of Photocopiers and Multi-function peripherals creation and deployment of electronic forms; and the management of professional and services contracts associated with the services being offered.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Training And Experience
University graduation in Business Administration with Trade Qualifications associated with the operation of offset printing presses including GATF Press Operator Certification or equivalent.
Five (5) years experience in a related position including 2 years experience in a supervisory capacity managing within a large organization operating in a large geographic area.
Skills And Abilities
- Thorough understanding of deployment of web based electronic forms distribution.
- Proven ability to work in a dynamic environment with a variety of disciplines to maintain and foster good working relationships.
- Ability to proficiently use a personal computer using the following applications:
- MS Office; MS Outlook; Ms Exchange Windows
- Ability to thoroughly understand the functionality and versatility of the following applications
- PowerPoint; Word; Excel
- Ability to proficiently and effectively use the following applications:
- Adobe Acrobat; Photoshop; PageMaker; Macromedia Freehand; Quark Express; FrontPage
- Ability to apply the principles associated with SGML and /or XML to facilitate the deployment or creation of electronic forms.
- Ability to apply good interpersonal skills including tact and diplomacy in dealing with a variety of work situations Vendors and Healthcare professionals
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Ability to work independently by organizing activities and workload
- Ability to apply a strong sense of teamwork and the principles of teambuilding
- Ability to demonstrate an aptitude to proactively seek out improvement opportunities
- Ability to demonstrate good decision making /problem solving
- Ability to work under pressure and effectively deal with short turn around times
- Ability to demonstrate the operation and operate plate making offset presses duplicating devices and bindery equipment
