As a Director with EY-Parthenons Deals Financial Diligence Financial Services practice youll be right at the heart of the action. Youll work with many of the worlds largest financial services organizations and private equity funds on some of the most complex deals. Youll be advising our clients throughout the diligence lifecycle on key value drivers while reducing the risks and uncertainty inherent in transactions.

Youll be working in a team environment with financial due diligence professionals on both buy-side and sell-side due diligence across the financial services sector including but not limited to the following sectors:

  • Wealth and asset management: Investment managers hedge funds wealth managers.
  • Banking & capital markets: Investment banking broker dealers exchanges FinTech digital assets.
  • Insurance: Carriers administrators and underwriters in life health accident and property & casualty spaces.
  • Real Estate Infrastructure Hospitality: Real estate (residential multifamily office retail industrial) Hospitality (lodging / entertainment owners and operators) Infrastructure (energy transition digital infrastructure transportation waste management social infrastructure).

Our team serves both private equity and corporate clients by gaining an understanding of the business operations and historical results of the client or target to identify and advise on the financial risks related to the transaction. Our advice is developed through analyzing historically reported financial information profit drivers and trends challenging whether historical results reflect run-rate profitability and having an appreciation for industry specific practices and key performance indicators. We assist clients in understanding the factors affecting purchase price and post-closing transaction matters.

Your key responsibilities

As a Director with EY-Parthenons Deals Financial Diligence Financial Services practice you will be a vital member of the team managing and executing both buy-side and sell-side financial due diligence projects. Youll be focused on:

  • Analyzing historical financial data.
  • Identifying key trends behind the performance of a business.
  • Discussing business performance and forecast assumptions with senior management at the client and / or target.
  • Writing reports that set out our findings and recommendations around the key financial and business issues in a transaction.
  • Coaching and developing staff and senior associates to ensure their career development.
  • You will also be helping to identify innovative ways to further utilize our global delivery services team and new technologies to improve our ability to service our clients.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Working with Partners Principals Managing Directors and Senior Directors to facilitate financial due diligence engagements.
  • Analyzing financial and operational results of potential business acquisitions or divestitures through reviewing historical financial information and conducting interviews with executive management.
  • Identifying financial factors affecting the purchase price and deal structure.
  • Demonstrating knowledge of quality of earnings net assets and cash flows.
  • Researching industry trends and new technologies to provide knowledge and insight to clients through dynamic analysis.

To qualify for the role you must have

  • A bachelors degree in Accounting and/or Finance and 5 years of related work experience; or a graduate degree and approximately 4 years of related work experience.
  • Experience leading and managing others as well as ensuring analysis and reports are of the highest quality and delivered timely.
  • Excellent analytical skills and the confidence to translate large complex datasets into meaningful insights.
  • Ability to prioritize effectively on projects and the skills to adapt quickly to new challenges and concepts.
  • Ability to work in fast paced deadline driven environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and proven experience working closely with both key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to understand key internal and external stakeholders requests and lead team in delivering responsive and insightful analysis.
  • Expertise in the Microsoft Office Suite specifically in using Excel and PowerPoint.
  • You must either reside in or be in a commutable distance to your office location for this position.
  • The ability and willingness to travel and work in excess of standard hours when certain circumstances travel may be required beyond your work location based on client and project needs.

Ideally you will have

  • Significant experience in roles providing financial due diligence or other related services to financial services and private equity clients.
  • Experience gained within another large professional services organization or significant public accounting experience.
  • Experience in building and / or reviewing workflows and dashboards in Alteryx Power BI Tableau or other analytic tools.
  • Knowledge of how to leverage firm-approved AI tools in a business setting including Microsoft Copilot.
  • Established networking skills in a relevant industry

  • We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where youll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $120400 to $220700. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $144500 to $250900. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education experience knowledge skills and addition our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage pension and 401(k) plans and a wide range of paid time off options.
  • Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement project or year.
