** The Senior Transportation Driver provides assisted transportation trips to senior residents in Clear Creek County for medical grocery shopping and local priority trips. The Senior Transportation driver delivers meals to Meals on Wheels clients. The Transportation driver packs loads and organizes agency vehicles to ensure efficient delivery of the route. The Senior Transportation Driver cultivates and maintains communication and teamwork with clients volunteers coworkers and community partners.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Ensures the clients voice is heard and plays an active role in services
Maintains and adheres to a published schedule for transportation services within the Volunteers of America programs.
Coordinates a daily reservation and cancellation internal system for the transportation services with the Program Manager to help ensure trips are monitored correctly
Provides transportation for our clients from their homes to ensure safe transport to and from qualifying programmatic destinations
Assists Program Manager in staying in compliance with proper documentation protocols to adhere to State Unit of Aging and Volunteers of America Colorado policies
Develops and maintains routine vehicle safety/ maintenance procedures which will sustain the vehicle in optimum physical and operating condition.
Maintains cleanliness of company vehicle and delivery equipment.
Reports any safety or mechanical issues to supervisor through completion of daily vehicle checks and weekly completion of agency vehicle checklist.
Able to safely drive company vans and 12 passenger bus following all posted speed limits and general traffic laws.
Maintains records of transportation services provided through Volunteers of Americas Policy and Procedures
Assists in packaging meals and milk to ensure meals are appropriately sealed and insulated to maintain food safety standards and counts are accurate.
Deliver food to Meal on Wheels clients
Assists with Meal on Wheels participant caseload including home visits six months re-evaluations Information /referral and follow up advocacy and home delivery routing.
As needed assists with daily congregate dining service which may in include prep setup and breakdown of lunch service and serving during meal service.
Performs all other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
Driving in a company vehicle to a variety of location occasionally in adverse weather conditions.
Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision. Distance vision and the ability to quickly adjust focus.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Job responsibilities and duties may have to be performed in adverse weather conditions.
The noise level can vary from low to high depending on driving activities.

Minimum Qualifications of Position
Ability to pass background check annual MVR without major violations.
Must be at least 18 years old and provide a valid Colorado drivers license and state- mandated automobile insurance.

Preferred Qualifications of Position
High School Diploma or GED
Two years driving experience in a van or box truck.
Vehicle maintenance/ mechanical skills helpful.
Knowledge and Skills
Excellent organizational skills time management and strong customer service skills.
Behaves in a friendly courteous and respectful manner at all times in contact with program participants volunteers and the general public to foster a positive image and maintain good relationships .
