Position Overview
A leading healthcare organization in the Pensacola FL area is seeking an experienced Administrative Director of Emergency Services to provide strategic and operational leadership across multiple emergency department sites.
This role oversees:
Main Emergency Department: 41 beds 135 daily visits
Three Freestanding Emergency Departments (FSEDs): Combined volumes up to 135 visits per day
Team Oversight: 130 FTEs including 1 Director and 4 FSED Managers
This is an expanding program with two additional freestanding emergency departments planned in the near future. The organization utilizes a modern EMR platform (Expanse).
Key Responsibilities
Provide executive oversight for multi-site emergency department operations
Ensure patient safety clinical quality and regulatory compliance across all locations
Develop and execute patient throughput strategies and capacity planning initiatives
Promote interdisciplinary collaboration to optimize care delivery
Enhance patient experience through data-driven performance improvement initiatives
Lead workforce planning staff development talent acquisition and retention strategies
Manage departmental budgets and financial performance across all sites
Standardize policies and procedures to reduce clinical variation and improve cost efficiency
Monitor healthcare trends legislative updates and market dynamics to maintain competitive positioning
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of recent acute care Emergency Department Director experience (within the past year)
Strong preference for Freestanding Emergency Department (FSED) leadership experience
Bachelors Degree required; Masters Degree preferred
Progressive leadership experience in high-volume accredited emergency departments (e.g. Chest Pain Center Stroke Certification etc.)
Demonstrated success managing multi-site operations and large teams
