POSITION SUMMARY
Stack stamp and package Trim block lumber according to established quality standards and procedures ensuring optimal arrangement and adherence to safety and operational guidelines. Operate a forklift in the production areas of the planer.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Comprehend and perform all duties in accordance with rules regulations and JSAs.
- Follow safety protocols and report hazards to ensure a safe work environment.
- Stack stamp and package 4- and 6-foot trim blocks in accordance with all applicable standards.
- Assist in the remanufacturing and packaging of lumber units.
- Conduct required pre-operating checks on forklift prior to use and reporting all deficiencies immediately.
- Keep accurate records and lumber tally counts.
- Effectively load and unload trim block packages.
- Remove or replace defective trim blocks from the work area.
- Maintain a clean working area.
- Consistently keep a production level work pace.
- Other duties as needed or directed by the supervisor.
Specific job duties and shifts may vary per mill and based on machine availability.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid Drivers License
- Ability to pass a hair follicle drug test a post-offer pre-employment physical and a background check.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior industrial forklift experience
- High School Diploma or GED
Physical Requirements:
Move safely quickly and perform duties with repetitious movement. Sit and/or stand for shift reach with hands and arms stoop squat twist push and pull maintain balance bend at the waist kneel walk varying distances and climb stairs. Must be able to tolerate all weather elements loud conditions vibrations and airborne particles (sawdust).
