JOB SUMMARY
Assists with program planning for Health promotion prevention interventions and risk reduction programs.
This role focuses on helping childcare/education providers implement best practices for nutrition physical activity breastfeeding and mental health. As a member of the Healthy Living Team this role also consists of providing Spanish assistance to other team members and periodically helping with other projects and outreach.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must have one (1) year of related work experience in public health or health promotion or 48 credits hours of related coursework and a declared major from an accredited college or university in Health Education Health Science Public Health Community Health or related degree.
Bilingual in English and Spanish required; reading writing and speaking both English and Spanish fluently.
Preference may be given to applicants with experience working in childcare or child education settings.
Due to the nature of this position the successful applicant must pass a required background check through fingerprinting and enrollment in the continuous RAP Back (Record of Arrest and Prosecution Back) program in accordance with current County Human Resources policy requirements.
A valid Drivers License accepted by the State of Utah is required at the time of hire. A valid Drivers License issued by the State of Utah must be obtained within six (6) months of hire to operate a County vehicle.

May be required to work in various environments and County locations that may require security access i.e. clinic settings small office spaces etc.
TEMPORARY POSITIONS:
An At Will FLSA non-exempt employee who is not eligible for County benefits and who must work an average of 29 hours or less per week or an average of 129 hours or less per month.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING THIS POSITION
We are seeking a self-motivated culturally competent and personable individual to support the TOP Star (Teaching Obesity Prevention in Early Childcare and Education Settings) program. This role focuses on helping childcare/education providers implement best practices for nutrition physical activity breastfeeding and mental health. As a member of the Healthy Living Team this role also consists of providing Spanish assistance to other team members and periodically helping with other projects and outreach.
This position will work 10-20 hours per week usually during business hours Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. May occasionally need to work an evening or part-day Saturday.
This position does allow for hybrid work schedule with at least one half day required per week in-office on Monday or Wednesday.
