Location: Clinton MD
Job Type: Travel Contract
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 312s Nights
Pay: $2323.80/week (plus $2500 completion bonus per contract up to $7500 after three contracts)
Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Labor & Delivery (L&D) Registered Nurse (RN) to join a healthcare facility in Clinton MD on a 13-week travel assignment. The RN will provide expert care to mothers and newborns during labor delivery and postpartum recovery. The ideal candidate is experienced in obstetric nursing calm under pressure and dedicated to delivering safe family-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to mothers and newborns throughout labor delivery and postpartum recovery.
- Monitor maternal and fetal vital signs contractions and labor progression intervening as needed.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed including induction agents and epidurals.
- Support physicians midwives and the care team during deliveries and obstetric emergencies.
- Educate mothers and families on labor processes postpartum care breastfeeding and newborn care.
- Document assessments interventions and outcomes accurately in the medical record.
- Adhere to infection control protocols safety guidelines and evidence-based practices in labor and delivery.
Qualifications
- Current and valid RN license in Maryland (or compact eligibility).
- Minimum 12 years of recent L&D nursing experience in an acute care setting.
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP); ACLS preferred.
- Strong assessment communication and decision-making skills in high-acuity situations.
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
- COVID-19 vaccine and recent tuberculosis test.
