Job Description:
We areseekinga dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Registered Nurse to join our healthcare this vital role you will provide specialized nursing care to critically ill infants children and adolescents with complex medical conditions. The ideal candidate willdemonstratestrong clinical skills a passion for pediatric care and the ability to respond quickly and effectively in high-pressure situations.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver comprehensive age-appropriate care to critically ill pediatric patients in a fast-paced PICU environment.
Monitor and assess patients vital signs hemodynamic status and overall condition.
Administer medications IV therapies and advanced treatments according to physician orders.
Perform and support critical procedures including IV starts catheter insertions lumbar puncture (LP) support and central line dressing changes.
Provide specialized care such as ventilator management ICP monitoring tracheostomy care and tube feeding/placement.
Collaborate with physicians specialists and multidisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Support families by providing education updates and emotionalassistancethroughout the treatment process.
Maintainaccurateand thorough patient documentation in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
Associates orBachelors Degree in Nursing
Active RN license in North Carolina
Minimum of 1 year of PICU experiencerequired
PALS certificationrequired
Proficiencyin Cerner charting system
Ability to float to Pediatrics and NICU as needed
Strong skills in hemodynamic monitoring ventilator management and critical pediatric interventions
