CityVet is looking for an experienced Veterinary Technician with a minimum of 2 years of experience. The ideal candidate would possess great leadership skills is self-motivated and is a great technical trainer.

Compensation is based on experience and education.

Responsibilities

The Veterinary Technician (VT) Lead is responsible for maintaining excellent patient care and operational productivity by helping the Veterinarian leverage their time and efforts to meet the needs of their clients and patients. The Veterinary Technician (VT) Lead works to relieve the Veterinarian from technical work and administrative detail to achieve greater levels of efficiency in daily practice. Veterinary Technicians (VT) Lead help facilitate and streamline communication from the operating room to the front office staff and most importantly the client.

Essential qualifications:

  • Surgical experience
  • Knowledge and ability to properly handle and restrain various dog breeds
  • Strong communication skills
  • Multi-tasking ability with strong attention to detail
  • Frequent standing bending walking lifting carrying and reaching
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Self-motivated & team-oriented
  • High energy and fun-loving approach to life
  • Ability to remain calm and empathetic in stressful/emergency situations
  • Exudes confidence and decisiveness while practicing

A day in the life:

  • Ensures the Quality Compliance (QC) and accuracy of all Veterinary Technician (VT) work including case notes and chart records proper processing and entering of lab results and identifies any discrepancies and works with the team to solidify a solution and correction
  • Assists with the development and execution of the Veterinary Technician (VT) staff schedule and surgery rotation schedule
  • Maintains surgical skill set and abilities
  • Inventory order and maintain adequate medical supplies in the facility Interview train and develop new Veterinary Technicians (VT) and Technician Assistants (TA) to CityVets standards
  • Work with Practice Manager and Partner/Lead Veterinarian to resolve customer complaints and arrive at appropriate resolutions
  • Support the Veterinarian as needed and maintain a positive and cooperative relationship with other facility staff
  • Assist the Client Service Specialist team when needed
