Job Summary

A forward-thinking and inclusive secondary school in Wakefield is seeking a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join its thriving English department. This is a full-time role available for an immediate start and is suitable for both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) looking to develop within a supportive and stimulating environment.

The Role

  • Preparing students effectively for GCSE assessments and examinations.

  • Providing timely and constructive feedback on students progress.

  • Contributing to curriculum development and resource creation within the department.

  • Supporting extracurricular activities such as school productions reading clubs or competitions.

  • Maintaining high standards of behaviour and fostering a positive learning environment.

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

  • Strong subject knowledge across English Language and Literature.

  • Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.

  • Ability to inspire students of all abilities to reach their full potential.

  • Commitment to safeguarding inclusivity and student wellbeing.
