Job Summary
What we are looking for
SCS is looking for a full-time environmental technician for our West Des Moines office. You will work with scientists and engineers on a variety of municipal solid waste landfill groundwater well monitoring and chemical/petroleum spill projects.

- Groundwater monitoring
- Landfill gas monitoring
- Landfill cap and liner construction quality assurance (CQA)
- Vapor monitoring
- Field note preparation
- Emergency Spill Response
Qualifications
- Associate degree in an environmental civil or construction related field preferred
- 1 years of related experience preferred but not required
- Completion or willingness to complete a 40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) training required
- Solid technical mechanical and computer skills required. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel required
- Ability to perform fieldwork including lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for long periods of time required
- Valid drivers license with a driving record in good standing required
- Willingness to assist with emergency spill response during regular evening and weekend hours required
- Ability to travel overnight for work outside of the Des Moines area extended out of town fieldwork is required
Pay Range
USD $22.00 - USD $25.00 /Yr.
