Position Summary

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) Child Support Services is seeking an experienced Senior UI/UX Developer to support ongoing modernization efforts. This project involves transforming a legacy mainframe Child Support system into a modern user friendly web based platform that integrates with the existing application.

This role is ideal for someone who excels in human centered design front-end development and applying AI-enhanced tools for optimizing user experience. You will lead UI/UX strategy-from wireframes and prototypes to building production-ready interfaces-while ensuring accessibility (WCAG) and high performance.

Key Responsibilities

Design and implement responsive modern UI using HTML5 CSS3 JavaScript Bootstrap and frameworks like React Angular or Vue.
Replace legacy JSP screens with intuitive accessible user-friendly interfaces.
Develop wireframes prototypes UI components and design systems.
Apply AI-driven tools for UI/UX optimization automated design workflows and rapid prototyping.
Collaborate with backend developers to ensure seamless integration with RESTful APIs.
Conduct UI performance optimization and cross-browser compatibility enhancements.
Ensure all interfaces meet WCAG accessibility standards.
Participate in Agile ceremonies collaborate with UAT teams and contribute to continuous improvement.
