APT certifications Preferred
Minimum of three (3) years experience in the transportation operations department of a school district school bus transportation company or municipal transportation agency; OR two (2) years experience in computer systems with knowledge of computerized routing systems.
Class B CDL with P and S endorsements (Preferred)
Ability to speak Spanish Preferred
Must possess strong computer and word processing skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to utilize software to develop routes and schedules.
Possesses operational / functional knowledge of computerized routing systems
Knowledge of demographic and transportation routing software
Knowledgeable in training techniques and possesses a mechanical aptitude and strong leadership skills
Strong organizational skills and group presentation
Excellent interpersonal skills and well developed written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of and experience using word processing database and spreadsheet software
Basic math skills detail orientation mapping and routing skills

- Assist with developing and coordinating routes to maximize time and capacity use of Dallas ISD school buses using a computerized routing system and related software (the routing system ).
- Work with other routing specialists to monitor the efficiency and accuracy of the routing system.
- Create update and communicate with service centers regarding bus routes and driver directions and disseminate route changes in a timely fashion.
- Monitor student ridership and assist with management of student information in the routing system.
- Assist with the supervision and maintenance of the geo-code mapping and with maintaining developing and administering in-service training on the use of the routing system.
- Provide the necessary data for boundary planning and redistricting project if needed.
- Assist with transportation department reporting requirements including but not limited to TEA Route Services Report and Operations Report.
- Support Dallas ISD campuses parents and Dallas ISD Transportation Department personnel with computerized school boundary address system.
- Assist with monitoring all Dallas ISD vehicles utilizing GPS and provide reports as needed.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with school administrators parents and transportation department personnel and maintain a professional demeanor in personal and telephone discussions with other staff school administrators and parents.
