Role Summary
The client is seeking a Workday Lead / Senior Consultant to guide and drive the large scale transition from Oracle to Workday Finance.. This role will provide technical leadership strategic decision-making and hands-on mentorship to internal teams throughout the implementation lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end Workday Finance implementation and transition effort.
- Serve as the primary Workday Subject Matter Expert for the Finance organization.
- Drive solution design configuration strategies and Workday best practices.
- Collaborate with leadership to evaluate build vs. train vs. contractor approaches.
- Provide estimates for effort timelines and market rates for Workday resources.
- Oversee report development system integrations and data accuracy.
- Train and guide internal team members with limited or no Workday background.
- Provide governance risk management and issue resolution across the program.
- Ensure smooth go-live and post-implementation stabilization.
Must-Have Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience with Workday Finance modules.
- Proven experience leading Workday implementations or migration projects.
- Hands on experience in design and building workday financial components
- Core finance
- AP supplier management
- Banking and settlement
- T&E
Preferred Skills / Nice-to-Haves
- Advanced experience with Workday Reporting
- Knowledge of SQL
- Experience using Python for analytics or automation
- Prior work managing contractors or vendor teams
- Experience mentoring teams without prior Workday exposure
