Job Description:

Process Engineer will lead projects process improvement and characterization activities that support the manufacturing process of the Intraocular Lenses and Cartridges operation in Anasco and by extension to other facilities manufacturing the same processes. The Engineer will possess a high degree of technical competence and project management skills to successfully lead their assigned projects and extended cross-functional team members in pursuit of the operations area objectives related to quality delivery cost and design (e.g. changes NPI introductions etc.). Role is responsible for problem identification reporting root cause analysis project management financial analysis efficiency or productivity improvement reporting and problem resolution. Role interfaces directly with other departments sites and corporate functional groups to drive and/or support critical business goals/objectives within GMP/ISO compliance. Lead/Support continuous improvement activities to ensure business key performance indicators are met.

SECTION 2: DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for providing technical leadership within a production value stream and have ownership for the following:

1. Identify key opportunities to develop and implement equipment and/or process enhancements that will improve efficiency product yield and safety.

2. Identify plan and implement projects related to product and process improvement ensuring alignment with strategic goals.

3. Design and implement experimental protocols applying statistical tools to enhance manufacturing processes and product performance.

4. Analyze current processes to identify key opportunities for equipment and process enhancements that improve efficiency yield and safety.

5. Develop detailed documentation for process validation project management business case proposals and root cause problem solving while ensuring compliance with industry regulations and internal standards.

6. Monitor and analyze production data to identify trends and provide actionable insights for continuous improvement.

7. Lead Six Sigma initiatives to drive process optimization and problem resolution within production environments.

8. Support NPI launch by completing process characterization work process challenge testing process capability and stability runs to qualify new product & processes and achieve annual business plan.

9. Engage with personnel in the identification and resolution of corrective/preventative actions that address any process quality related manufacturing issues.

SECTION 3: EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

Bachelors degree in engineering or Material Science with 2 years of relevant experience or masters degree in engineering with 1 year of experience.

Project management experience in an engineering environment.

Preferred experience:

2 years experience in an engineering function in FDA environment preferred

Six Sigma certification or extensive experience applying Six Sigma methodologies for analytical problem solving

SECTION 4: REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS ABILITIES CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES AND AFFILIATIONS

Strong analytical problem-solving skills with experience in data analysis and visualization.

Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.

Strong organizational skills

Prior experience using Minitab JMP or other analytical tools for statistical analysis and effective data visualization.

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within multi-functional teams and influence partners at all levels.

Six Sigma certification or extensive experience applying Six Sigma methodologies for analytical problem solving is preferred.

Proficiency in Spanish and English is required

Role is in Anasco PR. This position requires at least fifteen percent (15%) of domestic and international travel.
