JW Marriott Berlin represents a flagship luxury address within Marriott Internationals premium portfolio in Europe. As General Manager you will be entrusted with leading a complex high-profile operation in one of Europes most dynamic capital cities balancing brand stewardship owner partnership commercial performance and people leadership at the highest level.
This role calls for an experienced luxury General Manager with the gravitas to represent the JW Marriott brand the commercial acumen to drive sustainable results and the emotional intelligence to lead a diverse high-performing team in a culturally rich and fast-moving market.
Role Purpose
The General Manager is fully accountable for the overall performance of JW Marriott Berlin including financial results brand execution guest experience associate engagement owner relations and long-term asset value. You will act as the cultural and strategic leader of the hotel ensuring alignment with Marriotts luxury standards while creating a distinctive locally relevant experience.
Key Accountabilities
Business & Commercial Leadership
- Deliver strong financial performance across all revenue streams with full ownership of P&L budgeting forecasting and long-term business planning
- Drive topline growth through effective commercial strategy pricing distribution and market positioning
- Balance short-term performance with long-term asset value and brand integrity
Brand & Guest Experience
- Champion the JW Marriott brand ethos ensuring consistent delivery of luxury service standards
- Create memorable emotionally resonant guest experiences that reflect both the brand and the destination
- Act as brand ambassador for JW Marriott Berlin internally and externally
People & Culture
- Build lead and inspire a high-performing executive committee and leadership team
- Foster a culture of accountability inclusion development and wellbeing aligned to Marriotts People Brand
- Develop strong succession pipelines and invest in leadership capability at all levels
Owner & Stakeholder Partnership
- Build a trusted transparent and value-driven relationship with ownership
- Act as the primary interface between Marriott International ownership and key external stakeholders
- Provide clear data-led communication and strategic insight to support decision-making
Operational Excellence & Risk
- Ensure operational discipline compliance and risk management across all functions
- Lead with a strong focus on quality safety sustainability and reputation management
- Navigate complexity with calm decisive leadership particularly during periods of change
Experience & Background
- Proven General Manager experience within luxury or upper-upscale hotels ideally in a major city or flagship environment
- Strong commercial background with experience leading complex operations (rooms F&B meetings & events)
- Experience working with demanding ownership groups and delivering results in competitive markets
- International experience strongly preferred; German language capability essential
