Position Overview
The Sports Performance Coach is responsible for the design and implementation of performance programs that support injury prevention strength development power development movement quality and overall athletic growth for assigned teams.
This role reports directly to the Director of Athletics and works closely with the Athletic Trainer and sport coaches.
Requirements
Essential Responsibilities
- Design and implement sport-specific strength and conditioning programs.
- Lead training sessions focused on movement quality injury prevention strength power speed and recovery.
- Collaborate regularly with the Athletic Trainer regarding rehabilitation progress and return-to-play planning.
- Maintain a safe and organized training environment at all times.
- Communicate clearly with student-athletes coaches administrators and families when appropriate.
- Partner with sport coaches to align performance goals with team needs.
- Maintain professional communication with outside providers including physical therapists physicians and sport specialists as needed.
- Support administrative tasks related to scheduling tracking and reporting as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
- Adhere to all UHS policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Exercise Science Kinesiology Human Performance or a related field required.
- Masters degree preferred.
- One to five years of experience in strength and conditioning or sports performance.
- Experience working with high school or collegiate athletes preferred.
- CSCS (NSCA) and/or CSCCa certification required.
- Current CPR/AED certification required.
- Experience with athlete monitoring systems (including GPS-based tools) preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Clear and confident communicator.
- Working knowledge of spreadsheets and basic data tracking tools.

Compensation:
Start Date: Immediate
Term: Through June 30 2026
Renewal Opportunity: Position may be renewed beginning August 1 2026
Schedule: 15 hours per week (.20 FTE)
Compensation: $27000 (prorated if start date is mid-year) no benefits
