Mass General Brigham Cancer Institute is at the forefront in providing specialized coordinated cancer care and includes over 500 dedicated cancer specialists and more than 30 multidisciplinary disease centers and programs.
ThePractice Nursepractices at a high level of autonomy and accountability in collaboration with the multidisciplinary care team to provide a continuum of patient care from prevention early detection diagnosis treatment follow-up palliation bereavement and survivorship.
-Integral in coordinating patient care through specialized clinical centers and programs including our partners in radiation oncology surgery and clinical research to develop and implement a personalized care plan for each patient aimed to achieve optimum clinical outcomes.
-Continuously collects and assesses data related to patient health status to develop execute and evaluate the plan of care in the ambulatory/outpatient care setting.
-Provides necessary assessments administer treatments and communicate with the multidisciplinary care team.
-Provides patient and family education and psychosocial and emotional support.
-Ensures that care is safe holistic efficient effective timely and meets the cultural spiritual and ethnic needs of each patient and family.

SummaryAccountable for interpreting the plan of medical care assessment of patients clinical decision-making regarding nursing care assuring nursing care is provided in a safe and competent manner providing individualized nursing care and evaluating nursing care for groups of patients.

Essential Functions
-Maintain accurate detailed reports and records.
-Administer medications to patients and monitor patients for reactions or side effects.
-Record patients medical information and vital signs.
-Monitor record and report symptoms or changes in patients conditions.
-Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess plan implement or evaluate patient care plans.
-Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients responses and conditions.

Associates Degree Nursing required or Bachelors Degree Nursing preferred

Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Familiarity with the principles and skills needed for practical nursing to provide patient care and treatment.

- Ability to maintain confidentiality and secure sensitive information.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Excellent verbal and communication skills.
- Ability to accurately screen and triage acute patients.
