Description

Are you looking for a role where you can use your strong analytical skills to support Procurement and Commercial managers fulfil our legislative reporting requirements and mature our use of data to inform decisions and enhance performance.

Sitting within Social Security Scotlands Finance and Corporate Services division the Procurement and Commercial Team manages the organisations purchasing needs while providing advice and ensuring compliance with procurement legislation and policy. As our Management Information Lead youll take charge of essential data on procurement spend and savings.

In this role youll be at the heart of ensuring accurate management information that supports smart decision-making and maximises value across our procurement operations.

The role may be subject to future change with regard to reporting lines and the scope of the roles remit depending on the outcome of an ongoing Division-wide Management Information review (e.g. incorporating Procurement Finance and Fraud & Error).



Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Quality assuring data held on all key procurement registers including highlighting gaps/anomalies in data and resolving/escalating as appropriate.
  • Maintaining and enhancing MS Forms and PowerBI dashboards to facilitate new management information requirements.
  • Engaging with buyers and/or contract managers to promote timely and accurate reporting of key procurement spend secured and delivered savings and community benefits.
  • Providing timely comprehensive and accurate qualitative data for our published Annual Procurement Report and managing Scottish Procurement Information Hub uploads and information.
  • Facilitate weekly Request for Procurement Assistance (RPA) triage calls.
  • Providing timely data insight reports including presenting these at C-band meetings to support senior managers with performance monitoring and resource planning.
  • Liaising closely with Finance colleagues to identify potential non-compliance in relation to ePC usage and liaising with procurement business partners to support activity to increase compliance.
  • Implementing agreed improvement initiatives in a way that safeguards the integrity of our key reporting mechanisms and PowerBI dashboards.
  • Supporting the wider business on commercial and procurement related FOIs.
  • Provide essential cover for B1 Business Support Officer including oversight of procurement mailbox.

Working pattern
Our standard hours are 35 hours per week and we offer a range of flexible working options depending on the needs of the role. We embrace a hybrid working style where all colleagues will spend time in either our Glasgow or Dundee offices. There is an expectation of a minimum 2 days per week in your assigned location which will be either Glasgow or Dundee. This role is only available to existing permanent civil servants who have successfully completed their probation period within Social Security Scotland or the broader Scottish Government.
