Our client in the Aerospace & Defense industry is looking for a CNC Machinist to join their team in White Salmon Washington. You will be responsible for optimizing the utilization of machines equipment and personnel for maximum efficiency as well as programming tooling setup and operation of CNC milling machines to support production machining and finishing needs.

What Youll Do
- Program CNC milling machines and related equipment.
- Perform tooling setup and machining tasks.
- Provide manufacturing support and produce precision production parts.
- Coordinate workload to meet production requirements and schedules.
- Recommend and implement machine or process improvements to increase productivity and reduce scrap or rework.
- Estimate production times staffing needs and related costs for management planning.
- Visualize parts and equipment from blueprints sketches or verbal instructions.
- Direct and coordinate the fabrication setup and installation of new equipment.
- Operate manual machines including lathes mills and related equipment.
- Maintain machine tools and capital equipment to ensure reliability and precision.
- Assist with maintenance and repair of production and capital equipment.
Requirements
Preferred Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Understanding of quality systems and QC methods; experience with LEAN Manufacturing is a plus.
- Knowledge of machining safety hazards and safe work practices.
- Ability to follow detailed oral and written instructions.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints technical drawings and engineering sketches.
- Basic gas and electric welding skills preferred.
Preferred Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Vocational training or on-the-job experience in machine operations and CNC programming.
- Equivalent combinations of education training and experience may be considered.
