Forest Grove Elementary
NOTE: The primary building assignment is Forest Grove but services may be assigned to any building in the district based on student enrollment and program needs.
- Must hold an Iowa license with the PK-12 TAG (#107) endorsement.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Creates and models a safe respectful classroom environment as well as during meetings with colleagues.
- Utilizes guidelines from the Pleasant Valley CSD ELP handbook in the support and identification of students with needs for services beyond the regular classroom instruction.
- Collaborates with the district ELP team to develop objectives and curricula for enrichment opportunities that reflect engaging and challenging activities to support the mission vision values and goals of the ELP program.
- Employs a variety of instructional strategies that support the district mission align with the NAGC standards and are consistent with the needs and interests of ELP students.
- Provides students with effective feedback on a regular basis.
- Works to establish and maintain open lines of communication with students teachers and parents such as sending regular email correspondence attending meetings with grade level PLC when available or requested and serving on the district ELP Advisory Board.
- Maintains accurate and complete records on all participating students.
- Assists in the selection of books equipment and other appropriate instructional materials.
- Provides for his/her own professional growth through an ongoing program of reading workshops seminars conferences and/or advanced course work at institutions of higher learning.
- Serves as a resource for general education classroom teachers to develop understandings of the various profiles and characteristics of gifted learners.
- Provides staff development for general education classroom teachers around ELP programming and services.
- Builds an effective schedule that supports ELP Program Service model for delivery which includes push in pull out and consultative model.
- Coordinate student identification process in assigned buildings including administration of assessments.
- Based on District realignment provide instruction in multiple buildings as determined
- Successful candidate must possess strong interpersonal skills with a proven record of building rapport with culturally diverse students to ensure each child reaches his/her full potential.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the building and district administration.
