Job Summary
A Mechanic Helper assists mechanics with routine maintenance repairs and shop tasks. This role supports the team by preparing tools moving vehicles or parts keeping the work area clean and helping with basic mechanical work under supervision.

A Mechanic Helper assists mechanics with routine maintenance repairs and shop tasks. This role supports the team by preparing tools moving vehicles or parts keeping the work area clean and helping with basic mechanical work under supervision.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist mechanics with repairs and maintenance on vehicles/equipment
- Hand tools and parts to mechanics during jobs
- Perform basic tasks such as oil changes tire checks fluid top-offs and battery replacement (as trained)
- Clean and organize tools equipment and work areas
- Help lift move and transport parts and materials
- Inspect parts for damage or wear and report issues
- Keep records of work performed when needed
- Follow safety procedures and wear required protective equipment
- Dispose of waste (oil filters etc.) according to shop/environment rules
Required Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Basic knowledge of tools and mechanical systems
- Ability to follow instructions and learn quickly
- Good teamwork and communication
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects (40-75 lbs)
- Dependable and punctual
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous shop experience
- Auto tech training or vocational coursework
- Drivers license
Work Conditions
- Work is performed in a garage/workshop environment
- Exposure to noise grease chemicals and outdoor weather at times
- Standing bending lifting and moving for long periods
Work Schedule
- Full-time (overtime and weekends may be required depending on workload)
