Job Summary

Job Title: Registered Nurse Labor & Delivery

Specialty: Labor and Delivery (LDRP)
Shift: Night Shift 3x12 Hours (7:00 PM 7:30 AM)
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse to join a Family Birthplace unit. This is a Baby-Friendly facility where nurses are cross-trained across multiple OB-related roles. The ideal candidate must be comfortable managing high-acuity obstetric patients and newborn care responsibilities.

Unit Overview:

  • LDRP model with nursery responsibilities

  • Nurses cross-trained in:

    • Labor & Delivery

    • Circulator role (C-Section)

    • Acute Care Nursery

    • OB Triage

  • Care for GYN surgery patients

  • RNs perform newborn hearing screenings

  • Medication system: Omnicell

Staffing Ratios:

  • 1:1 with active labor patients

  • 1:2 with Cytotec inductions

  • 1:1 with Magnesium patients

  • 1:3 with Couplet (Mother/Baby) care

  • 1:1 if newborn admitted to sick nursery

Required Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience

  • First-time travelers may be considered based on total experience

  • Minimum 1 year of EPIC charting experience required

Required Certifications & Licensure:

  • Active RN State License

  • BLS

  • ACLS

  • NRP

  • AWHONN Intermediate
