Summary
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will provide clinical services and general support as necessary for the Family Medicine practice located in Midwestern Universitys Multispecialty Clinic. The LPN is cross-trained in both front office and back office duties. The position reports to the Manager of Patient Services at the Multispecialty Clinic.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide clinical services to include the following: take vitals height & weight obtain history of the chief complaint assist with exams glucose monitoring visual acuity exam urinalysis urine pregnancy testing phlebotomy specimen handling patient data entry and insurance verification.
- Perform front office services to include the following: bookkeeping insurance coding patient check in/check out filing referrals phone triage and scheduling.
- Perform back office services to include the following: instrument maintenance and sterilization EKG spirometry room stocking administration of topical and subcutaneous and intramuscular medications and wound dressing.
- Assisting the provider with COVID-19 testing.
- Administration of vaccines.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. This individual must have the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner and must have regular predictable in-person accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Education and/or Experience
High School diploma or GED required; AA degree or certification preferred. Must hold an active LPN License in the State of Arizona or a multi-state LPN License that is recognized by the State of Arizona. Applicants holding a multi-state LPN License must apply to transfer the license to Arizona within 60 days of hire and obtain the Arizona license within 1 year of hire. 1-2 years of experience working in a medical clinic setting is required.
Computer Skills
Computer proficiency in MS Office (Word Excel Outlook) and experience working within electronic health record systems.
Language Skills
Intermediate skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Reasoning Ability
Intermediate skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
