Network Operations Engineer

What youll be doing

• Support and maintain Shawbrooks Cisco Enterprise network stack including:

  • Cisco switching and routing infrastructure

  • Cisco Meraki environments

  • Cisco ISE (Identity Services Engine AAA / NAC / policy enforcement)

• Administer and support Palo Alto firewalls including rule management security policies NAT and threat prevention features
• Support and administer the SD-WAN platform (VMware VeloCloud) including edge devices and policy management
• Monitor LAN WAN VPN firewall and cloud connectivity performance
• Troubleshoot routing switching authentication SD-WAN and security-related issues
• Support network changes upgrades patching and configuration updates in line with change control processes
• Assist with network segmentation zero-trust controls and access governance
• Work closely with Security Infrastructure and Service Desk teams to resolve escalated incidents
• Maintain accurate network documentation diagrams and configuration records
• Ensure compliance with security standards audit requirements and regulatory controls

Qualifications :

What youll bring:

• Strong hands-on experience supporting Cisco enterprise networking environments
• Practical experience with:

  • Cisco switching and routing

  • Cisco Meraki

  • Cisco ISE

  • Palo Alto firewalls (PanOS)

• Proven experience supporting SD-WAN solutions
• VMware VeloCloud experience (highly desirable)
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP DNS DHCP and routing protocols (OSPF/BGP preferred)
• Experience working in a regulated or security-conscious environment
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical capability
• Ability to operate calmly in a live production banking environment
• Clear communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• CCNA or CCNP (Enterprise or Security preferred)
• Palo Alto certification (PCNSA or PCNSE desirable)
• ITIL Foundation (v4)
• Relevant SD-WAN certification
