Operations Supervisor 2nd Shift

Founded in 1989 and headquartered in Dallas Texas PLA is a national supply chain solutions provider offering Pallet Management Services 3PL Services Reverse Logistics Services and Freight Brokerage & Transportation Management Services handling over 115 million pallets per year for over 1500 customers. Now one of the largest pallet manufacturing and recycling companies in the United States PLA has over 76 facilities employing upwards of 3500 employees across 23 states and is still looking for opportunities for growth both organically and through acquisition.

Work Schedule:

• 2nd Shift:4:00pm to 12:30am(Sunday through Thursday)

What Youll Be Doing:

As a Supervisor your responsibilities will include:

• Establishing and maintaining consistent and proper communication with internal and external management teams.
• Partnering with the onsite management team to ensure the customers expectations of the highest level of quality standards and service are achieved.
• Being responsible for meeting or exceeding daily weekly and monthly production goals.
• Reviewing and analyzing daily and weekly reports to ensure constant improvement in operations.
• Partnering with the onsite management team to ensure timely completion and administration of all employment tasks including employee scheduling timekeeping performance reviews corrective actions status changes separations attendance and timely submission of required payroll data.
• Supervising or assisting in recruiting hiring training and retention of employees.
• Administering operations standards for cost control waste reduction quality safety and on-time delivery.
• Serving as an interface between operations customers administration employees and logistics.
• Providing leadership and guidance to frontline employees establishing and communicating goals and objectives emphasizing accountability and inspiring positive behavior changes.

What Were Looking For:

• Education: Associates Degree (preferred but not required).
• Experience: 6 months of experience in a leadership or similar role.
• Strong communication skills both verbal and written with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of staff and external partners.
• Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed production and operational goals.
• Analytical skills to review reports and identify areas for improvement.
• Experience with employee relations including scheduling timekeeping performance management and HR processes.
• A strong understanding of operational standards for safety quality and efficiency.

Physical Requirements:

• Standing and walking for the majority of the shift is necessary to effectively oversee onsite operations and lead the team across the warehouse floor.
• Bending stooping and reaching may occur as needed while checking quality standards or assisting with operational flow.
• Lifting or moving materials can be required on an occasional basis to support the team and ensure production goals are met.
• Navigating a warehouse environment is a regular part of the role which includes exposure to dust varying temperatures and moderate noise levels.
• Staying alert to see and hear safety alarms or moving equipment is essential while moving throughout the facility to manage daily activities.

Work Environment:

• While performing the duties of this job the employee will primarily work in a warehouse environment. This may include exposure to dust fluctuating temperatures (hot and cold) and moderate to high noise levels. Steel-toed boots and other personal protective equipment (PPE) will be required.
