DESCRIPTION: Under the direct supervision of the Program Manager provides administrative support to the OBGYN Department. Support includes coordination of surgical scheduling for patients and providers obtaining insurance pre-authorization ordering supplies and maintaining inventory for department including special patient medications. Also assists in data collection for tracking of prenatal quality and works with the Billing Department to assure capture of all billing data from the hospital.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinates OBGYN surgery schedules: Reserves OR and confirms surgery assistor; ensures patient notes authorizations and consents are sent to hospital prior to surgery; schedules surgeries and confirms date/time of surgery with patient; provides patient with pre-surgery instructions; coordinate equipment representatives to attend surgeries; obtains insurance authorization.
- Ensures hospital has necessary patient information including: sterilization consent forms pre-natal care notes etc.
- Coordinates transfer of care for Salud patients to outside clinics/facilities (e.g. PAMF etc).
- Manages the timeliness of appointments being scheduled of OB and follows up on patient no shows ensuring patients are not lost to follow-up and are rescheduled appropriately and according to pre-natal care appointment intervals.
- Assists in maintaining provider appointment templates for OBGYN department. Reviews for adequate coverage and staffing.
- Coordinates obstetrical delivery on-call schedule of providers; distribute to staff and hospital.
- Works with Billing Department to ensure that all billing data from the hospital is captured (surgeries deliveries etc.)
- Participates in clinical quality improvement projects including maintaining clinic and provider productivity dashboards.
- Orders supplies and medications for OBGYN Department maintaining inventory.
- Coordinates special patient medication programs including ordering pre-authorization storing and distribution.
- Consistently adheres to and/or exceeds SPLGs communication guidelines and expectations with internal and external customers including co-workers patients and external partners.
- Communicates effectively by using welcoming words proper tone of voice appropriate body language eye contact and smiling in all interactions. Listens skillfully and displays a willingness and ability to acknowledge patient and co-workers needs expectations and values through the use of reflective listening and empathy conveyance. Responds to co-worker and patient needs in ways that are helpful and beyond expectation.

Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 2 years experience scheduling surgeries.
- Ability to work with surgical referrals and authorizations.
- Experience working with EHR and scheduling systems.
- Experience working with insurance companies.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to travel to multiple locations up to 50% of the time.
- Fluent bilingual Spanish/English.
- Current CPR certification.
- Valid CA drivers license and current vehicle insurance.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Standing walking sitting typing reaching bending moving and/or lifting up to 50 pounds.
SALARY and BENEFITS:
Salary Range: $29.30 - $36.50 an hour
