Job Summary

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Northamptonshire to assist with the appointment of a Waste Collection Driver on a 6-month contract highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: 15.85 - 20.29 per hour

Summary:

The Refuse Collection Driver (HGV) will be responsible for operating a refuse collection vehicle on designated routes ensuring the safe and efficient collection of household and commercial waste and recycling. The role involves working collaboratively with the waste collection crew while maintaining high standards of safety compliance and customer service.

Responsibilities:

Driving and operating a refuse collection vehicle (HGV) on pre-set routes.
Working as part of a crew to complete daily waste and recycling collections.
Ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle at all times.
Carrying out daily vehicle checks and reporting any defects in line with procedures.
Adhering to all health and safety regulations and road traffic legislation.
Maintaining accurate records as required including defect reporting and route completion.

Essentials:

Previous experience driving HGV vehicles preferably within waste collection or similar environment.
Good understanding of road safety and transport regulations.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Physically fit and able to undertake duties associated with waste collection.
Good communication skills and a professional approach.
