Job Description:

Microchip products are at the heart of millions of consumer devices and networks and we are looking for an exceptional person to join our team as a Validation Engineer. A candidate placed in this position will be a contributor in the USB and Networking Validation Team focused on bringing advanced connectivity devices to market including Ethernet switches and PHYs USB 3.2 hubs PCI-Express and other connectivity interfaces in excess of 25Gbps.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop validation and test plan documentation based on datasheets and by thinking beyond the design implementation to find elusive bugs and ensure sufficient test coverage to reach a production worthy device.
  • Specify and design test environments including
    • Software requirements
    • Lab Equipment requirements
    • Test board designs
  • Perform lab-based post-silicon validation data collection and document results.
  • Work with Design Engineering Product Engineering and Applications Engineering to validate new silicon products.
  • Work in the lab to replicate customer issues and when necessary interface directly with field engineers to root cause a customer problem.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Holds a bachelors or masters degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
  • Strong knowledge of Basic Electronics includes Power Digital and Analog design fundamentals.
  • Knowledge of low-speed Peripheral interfaces like SPI UART I2C etc.
  • Familiarity with Ethernet (Wired) & PCIe products Interfaces and standards
  • Good knowledge on Micro Processor/Controller family.
  • Working knowledge of Embedded C Linux Python/TCL (tool command languages) any other programming languages etc.
  • Flexibility to adapt to Hardware & Software.
  • Familiarity with HDLs - Verilog/VHDL and FPFGA/ASIC design flow is added advantage.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal analytical and communications skills
  • Should be able to work in a challenging and engaging work environment that promotes teamwork creativity accountability and professional development
  • Exposure to working in Lab environment and should be Familiar with lab equipment like Oscilloscope logic analyzer etc.

*Range is dependent on numerous factors including job location skills and experience.
