ChristianaCares Outpatient Imaging Department is currently recruiting for a Full-Time (80 hours over two weeks) Ultrasound Technologist to work the day shift at the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center.
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
To perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures at the request of physicians to aid in the diagnosis of disease or related abnormalities.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Demonstrates complete knowledge and proficiency in the use of Ultrasound equipment radiology supported computer systems and CD burners.
- Maintains compliance with local state and federal regulations in ACR and state licenses. Complies with Joint Commission regulations.
- Demonstrates ability to provide technologists tentative readings as needed.
- Demonstrates knowledge and proficiency in assisting physicians during invasive procedures.
- Enters accurate patient study information into the clinical care systems.
- Assist with the coordination of workflow and patient care activities.
- Obtain clinical history regarding reason for examination completes necessary measurement documentation and obtains appropriate consent.
- Maintains patient confidentiality.
- Assists in the learning process of students and new staff in departmental procedures and quality control.
- Demonstrates problem solving skills acts as liaison OP Imaging department clinicians nursingand ancillary departments to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Ability to assess patients for changes in patient status.
- Maintains required credentials for CPR critical skills and mandatory in-service education.
- Performs assigned work safely adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices.
- Reports to supervisor in a timely manner any unsafe activities conditions hazards or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself other employees patients and visitors.
- Demonstrates skills and knowledge necessary to provide care appropriate to neonatal pediatric adolescent adult and geriatric patients including knowledge of growth and development.
- Provides excellent customer service to patients family members physicians and staff.
- Performs other duties as required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Completion of two-year accredited program in Ultrasound Sonography is required.
- CPR Certification
- An Associates degree is required; candidates are required to obtain their Associates of Science degree (can be substituted within a related field) within three (3) years of their start date as outlined in the Education Agreement required to be signed as a condition of employment.
- Yearly PEEPS certification required for proper and safe positioning and transfer of patients.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- ARDMS Registered; Abdomen and/ or OB/Gyn certification required.
- CPR Certified

Hourly Pay Range: $35.39 - $56.63
This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCares good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills relevant experience and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
