A well-resourced and ambitious secondary school in Reading is seeking a reliable skilled and proactive Design & Technology (DT) Technician to support their successful DT department. This is a full-time permanent role starting ASAP offering the opportunity to work in a creative practical and collaborative environment.
As a DT Technician you will play a key role in ensuring that practical DT lessons run smoothly. You will prepare materials maintain equipment and support teaching staff and students during lessons. Your role will also include monitoring stock assisting with administrative tasks and maintaining a safe organised workshop environment.
The successful candidate will have a hands-on approach strong organisational skills and a good understanding of workshop tools materials and safety procedures.
Preparing tools materials and equipment for practical lessons
Setting up and clearing DT workshops efficiently
Supporting teachers and students during practical sessions
Maintaining and organising equipment machinery and storage areas
Monitoring stock levels and assisting with ordering materials
Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
Assisting with departmental projects displays and competitions

Previous experience as a DT Technician or in a practical support role desirable
