Job Title: Quality Assurance Technician - US
Location: Carol Stream IL 60188
Shift Timings: Shift Hours: 8 am to 4:30 pm (Interviews Required)
Summary of Job:
The Lab Technician supports laboratory operations by preparing samples performing routine measurements following established protocols and assisting with basic warehouse and related tasks. This role requires strong attention to detail safe work practices and the ability to operate both laboratory and material handling equipment including stretch wrapping pallets and forklifts.
Must-have/Required skills:
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) Gloves Safety Shoes and Lab Coat
- Prepare and cut paper and paperboard samples
- Drive a forklift
- A high school diploma is required.
- Must have a good attention to detail and willing to learn.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Computer experience using Microsoft Office products is essential.
- A self-motivated can-do work ethic is a must.
- Good mechanical and visualization skills are required.
- Ability to interact in a professional effective manner with customers and production employees is required.
Nice-to-have skills:
- A two-year Associates Degree in business or science or equivalent laboratory experience is preferred.
Key responsibilities and duties:
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) including gloves and lab coat in accordance with safety procedures.
- Prepare and cut samples using approved tools and techniques.
- Measure weight volume and other scientific units using laboratory instruments (e.g. compression testers vibration and surface testing equipment).
- Follow established test protocols to ensure accuracy repeatability and compliance with quality standards.
- Document observations and results into Test Reports.
- Receive record store track and dispose of samples and materials to be tested.
- Communicate with requesting internal and external customers as necessary to clarify testing or technical assistance needs.
- Perform testing of paperboard packaging materials and packaged products according to TAPPI ASTM ISO ISTA or other accepted test methods. Maintain data in a central filing system.
- Perform routine equipment calibration checks and collaborative tests to ensure accurate test results. Request maintenance as required.
- Attend and complete training related to safety processes and new products.
