Perioperative Instrument Technician Full-Time
Location: Trinity Health Oakland Hospital Pontiac MI
Schedule: Full-Time/Day Shift
About the Role:
Join our Perioperative Services team as a Perioperative Instrument this vital role youll support surgical procedures by preparing and maintaining instruments equipment and supplies ensuring a safe and efficient operating environment. Youll also assist with patient transport and positioning and collaborate closely with nurses surgeons and other healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble and prepare surgical instruments and supplies for procedures.
- Clean sterilize and maintain surgical equipment.
- Assist in operating rooms with retractor holding and patient positioning.
- Transport patients safely and maintain confidentiality.
- Monitor inventory and restock supplies as needed.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED required; Associate degree in healthcare or OR experience preferred.
- BCLS certification required.
- Minimum 6 months experience in patient care within an invasive/minor procedure environment.
- Knowledge of aseptic technique and standard precautions.
- Ability to stand/walk for most of the shift and lift up to 100 lbs.
- Strong organizational communication and customer service skills.
