Job Summary

English Teacher instructs students in reading writing speaking and listening focusing on grammar literature and vocabulary to improve communication skills. They create lesson plans assess student progress and foster an engaging inclusive classroom environment. Required qualifications include a bachelors degree in English or Education and teaching certification.

Key Responsibilities

Curriculum Development: Designing and implementing lesson plans that align with educational standards.

Instruction: Teaching reading writing grammar vocabulary and literature adjusting methods for diverse learning styles.

Assessment: Evaluating student performance through tests quizzes assignments and projects providing constructive feedback.

Classroom Management: Maintaining a positive safe and productive engaging classroom environment.

Student Support: Meeting with parents/guardians conducting conferences and offering additional support to students.

Professionalism: Participating in staff meetings workshops and ongoing professional development.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Education: Bachelors degree in English English Literature or Education.

Certification: Teaching license or credential often required by state or district standards.

Communication: Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.

Experience: Prior experience in a teaching role student teaching or working with children/young adults.

Technology: Proficiency with educational technology and digital learning tools.
