Newcastle Private Hospitalis looking to employ a Registered Nurse or Midwife for their Special Care Nursery on a full time or part time basis.

Come and join our expert team of surgeons specialist doctors dedicated nurses and allied health professionals at Newcastle Private Hospital. We are a 189 bed acute private hospital facility co-located on the John Hunter Campus at Rankin Park. The hospitalhas11 theatres including a hybrid theatre and a 15 bed Intensive Care Unit.

We also have a cardiac suite including a cardiac catheter laboratory and a 16 bed Coronary Care Unit. A private maternity suite including 6 birthing suites 38 antenatal/postnatal rooms and a Level 2 Special Care Nursery are available for families in the Newcastle region. Newcastle Private Oncology Centre provides specialty care for individuals and their families/carers undergoing all aspects of cancer treatment and care with both an inpatient unit and day infusion lounge.

As a Registered Nurse/Midwife your responsibilities will include:

  • To provide quality nursing care by Assessing Planning Implementing and evaluating individual patient and new born care.
  • To provide a standard of care according to the individuals level of experience and education maintaining high quality nursing care within a safe environment.
  • To develop and utilise strategies that encourage an atmosphere conducive to effective communication.
  • To work in partnership with patients and families in decision-making regarding provision of care promoting beneficial relationships
  • When required working within the postnatal ward

Essential Criteria:

  • Current Registration with AHPRA
  • At least 2 years post graduate experience in Neonatal Intensive Care or Special Care Nursery experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and unsupervised in the Special Care Nursery
  • Working with Children check
  • Commitment to Quality Patient Care
  • Compliance with ACQSHC National standards
  • Sound clinical decision making and problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Works well independently and within a team
  • Intermediate computer skills

Desirable Criteria:

Post Graduate qualifications in Neonatal Nursing (or working towards)

If you are successful in the role you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant registered nursing experience against the current Healthscope and NSWNMA/ANMF NSW Nurses and Midwives Enterprise Agreement 2024 a salary ranging from $43.34-$54.89per hour.
