Job Summary

The role: Step into a leadership role where you can make a real impact in your community! As a Pool Team Lead youll play a key role in the day-to-day operations of the Centennial Outdoor Poolsupporting staff delivering high-quality swim and water safety programs and ensuring a safe welcoming environment for all patrons. This dynamic position blends hands-on lifeguarding instruction mentorship and facility oversight offering the opportunity to grow your leadership skills while fostering a positive inclusive and energetic aquatic environment. What we offer: The rate of pay for this CUPE bargaining unit position is $30.09 per hour plus 12% in lieu of benefits (equivalent to a wage of $33.70 per hour). The successful candidate will also have access to a reduced cost Employee Wellness Pass for Recreation facilities and programs. 

Season & Hours of work: April 1 2026 to August 31 2026

  • April up to 15 hours per week
  • May/June/July/ August up to 40 hours per week

Pool Team Lead - Job Description 


Qualifications :

Education/Training

  • Must possess and maintain valid National Lifeguard (NL) certification.
  • Must possess and maintain valid Swim Instructor certification.
  • Must possess and maintain valid Standard First Aid with CPR-C and AED certifications. CPR-C/ AED must be current within one year.
  • Must successfully attain a clean criminal record and vulnerable sector check prior to employment.

Experience

  • Minimum of two (2) years experience working in a related aquatic environment within the last seven (7) years.
  • Minimum of three (3) months supervising staff and/or volunteers within a team environment within the last five (5) years.

Preferred Criteria:

  • Previous experience working at Centennial Pool.
  • Lifesaving Society Advanced Leadership Certification (National Lifeguard Instructor Lifesaving Instructor Swim Trainer etc.)
  • Registered Aquatic Fitness Instructor Certification
  • Pool Operator Level 1 and 2
  • Class 5 Drivers License
