Process Designer
Location: Whitehaven
Staff / Contract (Inside IR35)
Project Description:
The project requires the following at a high level:
- Experience of working within a highly regulated industry preferably within the nuclear industry.
- Experience delivering safe fit-for-purpose fully integrated and operable design solutions that meet product requirements.
- Experience producing design deliverables such as product requirements specifications technical reports calculations technical drawings and layouts installation method statements risk assessments and design substantiation.
- Ability to liaise with stakeholders across a wide range of specialist areas and at all levels from both technical and non-technical backgrounds.
- Peer review/checking of reports drawings (proposal & detail drawings) and supporting calculations.
Role Description:
- To produce engineering design work packages (specification drawings analysis verification or assessment of engineering) that satisfy the legal and functional requirements along with the associated performance conditions to the agreed time cost and quality
- Work within a multi-discipline design team
- Key deliverables will include:
- Process description
- Process schematics
- Basis of process safety
- To be primarily site based on Sellafield site to provide support to projects that are in the execution phase.
Qualifications :
Essential Experience & Qualifications:
- Degree in Process Engineering with a minimum of 2 years design delivery experience OR other qualification such as HNC and HND with 5 or more years design delivery experience
- Proactive and driven approach to work Ability to take initiative and remain motivated.
- Good communication skills Capable of collaborating with team members from different disciplines and effectively communicating ideas and solutions.
- Competent report writing skills Ability to document findings clearly and concisely ensuring all reports are well-structured and easy to understand.
- Comfortable under time and cost constraints Able to work efficiently under deadlines and within budget limitations.
Desirable Experience & Qualifications:
- Chartered Chemical Engineer Chartered status with the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) or Engineering Council (EC) is a plus.
- Experience with Sellafield Ltd procedures Familiarity with the procedures for checking and approval within Sellafield Ltd.
- Experience in nuclear industry design delivery Prior involvement with designing and delivering projects in the nuclear sector.
- DESEAR Experience or knowledge of the Design Engineering Safety Assessment and Risk Management (DESEAR) process.
