Position Summary
The Nurse Manager of Emergency Services (Clinical Manager) is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations and patient care delivery within a high-volume Emergency Department. This leadership role provides direct supervision of staff collaborates closely with physicians and hospital leadership and ensures high standards of quality safety and operational efficiency.
This position oversees evening shift operations and reports directly to the Emergency Department Director.

Daily Patient Volume: Approximately 140180 patients
Staff Oversight: 55.8 FTEs
Reports To: Emergency Department Director
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily emergency department operations during assigned shift
Ensure delivery of safe high-quality patient care
Participate in hospital and departmental committees
Develop and implement staff education and professional development initiatives
Manage staffing and scheduling in collaboration with department leadership
Supervise personnel including performance evaluations and disciplinary actions
Support onboarding orientation and mentoring of new staff
Ensure compliance with organizational policies procedures and regulatory standards
Maintain quality assurance processes (e.g. crash cart checks temperature logs unit indicators)
Collect and analyze operational and clinical data to support performance improvement
Assist with clinical procedures as needed
Serve as a departmental resource and liaison for community education efforts
Qualifications
Required
35 years of acute care Emergency Department leadership experience (within the past year)
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Nursing Diploma required
Must be actively enrolled in a BSN program
Active Florida RN license or Compact RN license
BLS certification (American Red Cross or American Heart Association)
Strong leadership operational management and conflict-resolution skills
