Overview:
The Residential Aide (RA) ensures the wellbeing and safety of the programs clients and staff during their shifts. The RA provides crisis intervention as needed to maintain residential safety and security.
Responsibilities:
Primary:
- The RA makes sure that the programs Code of Conduct is enforced and adhered to by program clients.
Secondary:
- Build rapport with program clients and engage with them professionally and respectfully.
- When necessary de-escalate tense even hostile client situations
Other functions that may be required with this position include:
- Ensure the safety security and integrity of all residents and guests as well as the physical environment of the facility.
- Conduct periodic facility walk-throughs.
- Always provide excellent customer service and confidentiality.
- Communicate with the clinical staff on resident behavior as well as the care of those on the fragile list.
- Provide screenings for all visitors staff and clients who enter subject to Housing Works requirements.
- Write and submit Shift Reports at the end of every shift in accordance with the departments requirements.
- Write and submit Incident Reports in accordance with Housing Workss policy and procedures and when necessary testify in court about the contents of said reports after being prepped by Housing Workss attorneys
Requirements:
- At least one year of work experience.
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
- Ability to work with the homeless population.
- Must possess a Certificate of Fitness for Supervision of Fire-Alarm Systems (S-95) within eighty (80) days of employment.
- Must use PPE provided by Housing Works during shift when required by Housing Works Policies and Procedures.
