Position: SharePoint Architect / Subject Matter Expert (SME) Migration Focus

Position Overview
- Fusion HCR is seeking a highly experienced SharePoint Architect / SME to lead a large-scale migration of on-premises file storage (Windows file shares and NAS environments) into Microsoft 365 including SharePoint Online and OneDrive.
- This role will be responsible for designing and executing a comprehensive migration strategy including data assessment information architecture permissions mapping and governance. The environment consists of large-scale enterprise storage (300TB) requiring a structured phased approach to ensure performance data integrity and user adoption.
- The SharePoint Architect will partner closely with business and technical stakeholders to modernize the organizations collaboration platform transitioning legacy file shares into a scalable secure and well-governed Microsoft 365 environment.
- This role requires deep expertise in SharePoint architecture large-scale data migrations and Microsoft 365 along with the ability to lead both strategy and hands-on execution.
Key Responsibilities
- File Share Migration & Data Modernization
- Lead migration of on-premises file shares and NAS storage to SharePoint Online and OneDrive
- Assess and classify data to determine appropriate destination (OneDrive vs SharePoint)
- Design and execute migration strategy for large-scale environments (100TB preferred)
- Map legacy file structures and NTFS permissions to SharePoint and M365 security models
- Optimize migration performance including batching scheduling and handling throttling limitations
- Utilize migration tools such as ShareGate AvePoint or Microsoft Migration Manager
- Ensure data integrity validation and post-migration support
Architecture & Environment Design
- Design scalable SharePoint Online architecture to support enterprise collaboration and document management
- Develop information architecture including site hierarchy taxonomy metadata and governance structure
- Define standards for site provisioning permissions document management and lifecycle management
- Recommend and implement best practices for cloud-based collaboration platforms
Deployment & Implementation
- Lead configuration and implementation of SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365 services
- Configure integrations with OneDrive Teams Exchange Online and other M365 services
- Implement identity and access management using Azure Active Directory / Entra ID
- Support hybrid considerations if required during transition phases
Governance Security & Compliance
- Develop and implement governance frameworks and best practices
- Configure role-based access controls and permissions models
- Ensure compliance with organizational security and regulatory requirements
- Establish backup retention and disaster recovery strategies
Stakeholder Engagement & Requirements Gathering
- Partner with business and IT stakeholders to assess current-state environments and define future-state solutions
- Translate business requirements into scalable technical architecture
- Provide guidance to leadership on migration strategy risks and best practices
- Support change management and user adoption initiatives
Documentation & Knowledge Transfer
- Document architecture migration strategy and operational procedures
- Develop implementation roadmaps and migration plans
- Provide knowledge transfer and training to internal IT teams
Required Qualifications
- 7 years of experience with SharePoint architecture deployment and administration
- Proven experience leading file share to SharePoint Online / OneDrive migrations
- Experience handling large-scale data environments (50TB required 100TB preferred)
- Strong expertise with SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365 ecosystem
- Experience mapping NTFS permissions to SharePoint Online / M365 security models
- Experience with migration tools such as ShareGate AvePoint or Microsoft Migration Manager
- Strong understanding of information architecture governance and data organization
- Experience with Azure Active Directory / Entra ID and identity/access management
- Ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting large enterprise or multi-site migrations (100TB environments)
- Experience in hospitality gaming or regulated industries
- Experience with Power Platform (Power Automate Power Apps)
- Microsoft certifications related to SharePoint Microsoft 365 or Azure
- Experience supporting international or distributed teams
Travel Requirements
- Travel to UAE required during key phases of migration planning and stakeholder engagement
- Remaining work can be performed remotely
