Are you fascinated by photonic integrated circuit (PIC) and eager to contribute to cutting-edge research
Bringing together applied science and industry Silicon Austria Labs (SAL) conducts cutting-edge research in Sensor Systems Microsystems Intelligent Wireless Systems Power Electronics and Embedded Systems. As part of our Integrated Photonics Technologies (IPT) research unit we are looking for a motivated Masters student for an exciting Master Thesis focusing on characterization of PICs.
- Simulation assembling and testing of optical setups for photonic integrated circuit (PIC) characterization
- Sample characterization in the photonics lab and cross-checking with the simulation
- Automation of the measurement setup
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team
- Contribute to software and hardware development to enhance experimental capabilities
Your profile
- Enrolled master student (university in EU) in a related technical field
- Solid background in physics optics or photonics
- Familiar with ray tracing simulation tools ideally including Zemax OpticStudio
- Familiar with Python programming language
- Knowledge of Fourier optics is considered an advantage
- Motivation to tackle challenges and contribute ideas within an interdisciplinary team.
- Excellent English communication skills (German proficiency is a plus)
