The
EEG Technologist operates electroneurodiagnostic equipment which measures and records electrical activity of the brain; assisting in the analysis and diagnosis of disorders in the brain; for preparation of the patient and collection of historical information pertinent to the interpretation of the tests. The technician relies on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish their goals; Patients may include neonates infants children adolescents adults and geriatrics.
- Performs Electroneurodiagnostic (EEG) exams and procedures in an EEG lab or intraoperative environment according to appropriate protocols providing analysis of disorders of the brain as required.
- Prepares patient for procedure; collects historical information pertinent to the interpretation of the tests.
- Prepares EEG equipment for procedure. Calibrates and adjusts equipment ensuring that it is operational prior to procedure.
- Maintains equipment in clean operating condition and notifies appropriate person/department of equipment problems
- Demonstrate understanding of concepts practices and procedures within the standards of practice for an EEG lab.
- Identifies opportunities for continuous improvements of processes and services on an on-going basis.
- The employee is accountable to demonstrate proficiency for the skills outlined in the appropriate position skills list.
- The employee is accountable to maintain skill proficiency including improvement where deemed necessary and upgrading any additional or new skill on the appropriate position skills list.
- Accepts other duties as assigned to promote the accomplishment of organizational goal
