About the Role

Work in the warm tropical north supporting content makers as they tell the stories of Australia.

Join a local team of experienced technologists and work in a diverse and complex technical environment with opportunity to learn and develop with the support of a Senior Technologist. Collaborate with national support teams to provide vital support to content makers in Darwin and regional NT locations.

Diagnose repair and maintain a diverse array of technology systems including video and audio production Video and Audio over IP desktop applications and computers and satellite equipment.

You will deliver high quality support to ABC users and programs while ensuring content continuity. You will also assist with project installations commissioning and supporting new and upcoming systems and technical equipment.

Key Accountabilities

• Provide day-to-day technical support under routine direction to reduce downtime and keep broadcast services running. Investigate and log faults apply workarounds and emergency fixes where needed and escalate issues to system specialists or service providers when required.
• Carry out a range of broadcast maintenance activities to support program and network operations. This includes contributing to preventative maintenance schedules and undertaking regional maintenance work when needed.
• Keep technical records up to date including asset registers databases manuals and technical drawings.
• Perform operational technical duties when required including TV Master Control and program link operations.
• Build and maintain positive working relationships with clients to ensure service commitments are met or exceeded.
• Work with clients to understand their needs suggest practical solutions and resolve technical issues. Communicate technical information clearly and simply.
• Stay up to date with new and emerging broadcast technologies and share relevant knowledge with clients and colleagues.

About You

You are a technical all rounder with a keen interest in learning new technologies who enjoys working with others in a collaborative environment. You have hands on experience in hardware and equipment support or installation.

• Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent practical skills knowledge and experience.
• Demonstrated capability in technical support work including troubleshooting fault resolution maintenance upgrades installations and operational support.
• Strong communication skills and a client-focused approach with the ability to build positive working relationships and explain technical information clearly.
• Good organisation and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage your workload and priorities to complete tasks on time.
• A strong team mindset and positive interpersonal behaviours.
• A general understanding of current and emerging technical developments and how they apply in the broadcast industry.
