Job Summary
Head Chef. Parklands Care Home
- Salary: £14.94 per hour
- Hours: 28.5 hours per week 3 shifts per week
- Shifts: 8am – 6pm
Are you an experienced and passionate culinary professional who takes pride in delivering highquality nutritious meals Join our team at Parklands Care Home a purposebuilt facility offering expert residential dementia nursing and dementia care.
Situated just a short walk from the beautiful Hesketh Park Parklands is thoughtfully designed to promote comfort wellbeing and independence for our residents.
As Head Chef you will:
- Lead the daily operation of the kitchen ensuring high standards of food quality presentation and nutritional value
- Plan and prepare balanced homecooked menus tailored to residents’ dietary needs preferences and cultural requirements
- Manage stock levels ordering and food budgets in line with organisational guidelines
- Ensure full compliance with food safety hygiene and allergen regulations
- Oversee and support kitchen staff providing direction training and effective team coordination
- Maintain a clean safe and organised kitchen environment at all times
- Work collaboratively with the care team to support individual residents’ dietary and nutritional needs
- Create an enjoyable positive mealtime experience that enhances residents' wellbeing
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience as a Head Chef or Senior Chef ideally within a care catering or similar environment
- Strong understanding of dietary needs allergies and nutritional requirements for older people
- Excellent leadership organisation and communication skills
- A passion for producing highquality meals with a personcentred approach
- Commitment to maintaining exceptional hygiene and safety standards
- A positive attitude and dedication to supporting residents’ overall quality of life

*Overtime is paid for working over full time hours. However overtime enhancement will not feature on your contract of employment and can be withdrawn at any time as managers decision is final. Free meals are given if working over an 8 hour shift and are subject to terms and conditions. Discounts are accessed using our ‘Reward Me’ app. Flexible pay is available via ‘STREAM’.
