100% FTE salaried position. The scheduled shifts are primarily Monday-Friday day shifts with some off shifts and weekends. Hours may vary based on the needs of the department. You will work on-site primarily at American Family Childrens Hospital (AFCH) located in Madison WI.

• Play a pivotal role in launching the new Pediatric Cardiac ICU (CICU) at American Family Childrens Hospital shaping care delivery for a growing population of complex cardiac patients within a Level I Pediatric Trauma Center.
• Serve as the clinical expert for pediatric cardiac critical care advancing nursing practice and elevating standards of care in a newly established highly specialized CICU environment.
• Identify gaps in care and lead the design implementation and evaluation of evidence-based interventions that improve outcomes for children with congenital and acquired heart disease.
• Mentor and consult with nursing staff to strengthen clinical expertise integrate emerging technology and promote excellence in pediatric cardiac intensive care.
• Lead quality improvement and research initiatives while influencing system-level decisions to remove barriers and optimize care for critically ill children and families.
• Act as a clinical expert for specific clinical populations; this position requires a completed MSN degree and a minimum of three years of pediatric cardiac ICU nursing experience (strongly preferred) to support this high-acuity transformative expansion in pediatric cardiac care.
