Project Cost Accountant (Temporary 6 Month Contract)

KPFF Seattle is seeking an experience Project Cost Accountant. This position is a 6 month temporary role. The selected candidate will be employed on a fixed-term basis for the duration of the assignment.

• Process and track client billing invoices in an accurate and timely manner 
• Read contracts and interpret billing requirements 
• Project setup including bill structure rate and classification information 
• Payables entry of sub-consultant invoices 
• Create cost reports in BST 10 Global accounting software 
• Project cost reporting for clients with special requirements 
• Manage accounts receivables on projects 
• Work closely with Project Coordinators and Project Managers for reporting and invoice approvals 

Qualifications :

Minimum Qualifications: 

• AA degree with accounting/finance emphasis 
• Minimum 2 years related billing experience  
• Solid understanding of basic accounting process 
• Proficient in MS Excel and Office Suite 
• Strong organizational time management and problem-solving skills 
• Ability to work independently or in a team and take initiative 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills 

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience with BST 10 Global accounting system 
• Experience in an Engineering firm (or other Professional Services firms) 
• Experience in billing with Public Works Agencies such as WSDOT King County Sound Transit and SDOT

• This is not a permanent or full-time employee position.

Physical Demands:

• Duties are primarily conducted in a standard office setting requiring prolonged periods of sitting at a desk or computer table.
• Occasionally may be required to lift objects weighing up to 15 lbs.
• Occasionally visiting project locations and performing field inspections which may involve walking standing kneeling or navigating uneven terrain.
• Traveling to project sites or client meetings which may involve driving or flying.

Compensation:

The base salary for this role is competitive and will be determined based on the candidates experience education and skills. The expected pay for a qualified candidate is $35.00 - $39.00/hour
