Description
Under the supervision of the Dean of Admissions and Enrollment Management the liaison will facilitate and lead activities related to Career and College Promise and K-12 Partnerships for public charter private and homeschool students seeking education through HCC. The position will coordinate and lead outreach efforts to effectively grow participation in CCP and support the growth of non-public high schools in partnership with internal and external stakeholders.
The Career & College Promise Partnership Liaison Homeschool/Private/Charter is responsible for developing managing and strengthening partnerships with non-public schools to expand access to dual enrollment opportunities. This role provides guidance to students families and school partners on CCP pathways eligibility and enrollment; coordinates outreach and recruitment efforts; and ensures alignment with NCCCS policies and institutional goals to support early college access student persistence and successful transitions to college and career pathways.

- Responsible for advising charter private and homeschool students of Halifax Community College.
- Serve as the initial point of contact for Halifax Community College enrollment services and program information for charter private and homeschool students.
- Assist students and families in navigating CCP admissions policies and procedures; answers specific inquiries maintains contact with prospective students and ensures completion of application materials of students in the dual enrollment program.
- Assess prospective student admission data such as test scores and placement information reviews transcripts from high schools and evaluates other relative documentation for eligibility into CCP pathways.
- Work with students one-on-one to plan and reach career and educational goals referring them to appropriate academic programs and or short-term training options.
- Provide academic and career guidance regarding skills interests and personality traits.
- Provides college and career advising and registers students in courses per CCP pathways and policies.
- Ensure students receive timely interventions support services and proactive outreach based on academic performance and engagement.
- Report grade updates to assigned high schools for all enrolled CCP students.
- Updates and submits enrollment records every semester as required in CCP policy.
- Engage students counselors faculty parents and other stakeholders as appropriate in information sessions related to college success and the CCP program.
- Create and share student progress reports with high school personnel.
- Respond and document early alerts and communications.
- Attend professional development to enhance leadership and advising skills.
- Maintain regular on-site attendance during normal hours of college operations consistent with expectations and College policies and procedures.
- Initiate and answer telephone calls and video conference calls.
- Serve on various committees as assigned.
- Participate in and support ongoing assessment planning and evaluation to improve student learning.
- Participate in parent-teacher conferences when needed.
- Inform college administration of significant student incidents or concerns.
- Communicate with disabilities coordinator about students who may qualify for accommodations.
- Stay abreast of changes to Career and College Promise legislation rules and regulations.
- Participate in coaching specific and campus-wide professional development.
- Participate in College events and activities
- Perform other duties as assigned which contribute to the efficient and effective operation of HCC.
Professional Development
- Must receive required hours of professional development as indicated in the HCC Personnel Manual.
- Must complete Enrollment Management related training workshops annually.

Minimum/Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
Masters Degree in guidance and counseling student personnel or education
Two to three years in student advising counseling or a closely related field
Experience with College and Career Promise
Knowledge specialized skills and abilities
- Ability to make sound decisions based on data policies and human relations
- Ability to supervise and manage programs for students
- Ability to manage evaluate and supervise personnel
- Ability to understand and cope with various behavioral patterns
- Ability to relate to people from differing economic social and educational backgrounds
- Ability to understand and interpret test materials and scores
